Carnegie Mellon University
Rowing Club

Carnegie Mellon University Rowing Club has been rowing on Pittsburgh's rivers for over 30 years!

Carnegie Mellon Rowing Club has been a club sport at CMU since 1987. Whether you're an undergraduate or graduate student, there's always space on our team for a new member. Our novice program is designed for those who have little to no rowing or coxing experience. Novice rowers will learn sweep rowing in fours and eights and coxswains will learn to make strategic calls and lead the rowers during races and practices. More experienced individuals may prefer to join the varsity squad.

We meet six days a week on the Allegheny River, varsity in the morning and the novice team in the afternoons, and row out of Washington's Landing. During the winter, training continues in Skibo Gym. Before returning to the Allegheny for the spring season, we train in South Carolina on Lake Marion during Spring Break.
